Marine-grade aluminum is built for saltwater. That is why the material was chosen, and it is the same alloy family used in boat hulls and coastal structures. But marine practice has never meant ignoring salt. It means managing exposure, and the same applies here.

Three things matter, and they come straight from the manual:

  • Change ocean fills every five to seven days. Salt water is not left standing in the tub beyond that. This is the single most important habit for a coastal owner.
  • Rinse between fills. Do not leave saltwater residue on the surfaces when the tub is emptied. A rinse with fresh water is enough.
  • Drain and rinse before any long period of storage. A tub left over a season should not be left holding salt.

On an Electric or Hybrid tub intended for ocean water, a titanium heating coil is specified at the time of order. This is a build decision rather than an accessory, so it needs to be raised when you reserve rather than after the tub is made. That is a different proposition from a conventional spa described as saltwater compatible, which usually means it tolerates a low salt concentration inside a chemically managed system, not that it can be filled from the sea.
